The redevelopment project of the former convent of the sisters in Doccio, a fraction of Quarona, involves a complete re-functionalization to transform it into a day center for elderly people affected by Alzheimer’s. The main building, structured over several floors, will host spaces dedicated to daytime activities for the elderly, with a specific area for physical activities and a "White Room" for sensory stimulation. Multifunctional spaces will also be created. The internal courtyard will be repaved to eliminate architectural barriers, ensuring accessible entrances from all sides of the building. The project includes the use of sustainable materials and a design that enhances the historical identity of the complex, creating a safe and inclusive environment, perfectly integrated into the local context. The project aims to create an inclusive and safe environment, using sustainable materials and architectural solutions that enhance the historical context and promote community well-being.
