The project focuses on the redevelopment of the square located within the Emigrant Museum of Roasio, which currently appears disjointed and lacking identity. The main objective is to create cohesion among the existing elements and volumes and to transform the area into a square, which is currently completely absent. In rethinking the concept of a square, areas for gathering and pathways have been defined. The result is a square formed by the union of different elements, which interact with each other through the use of natural stone paving and the inclusion of green elements that serve as a frame for the entire project. Often, architecture is designed for the 'standard man.' In doing so, it penalizes real people with their diverse abilities, skills, and desires.
In this sense, an effort has been made to think about designing for the real individual, inclusively, valuing each person's specificities, involving diversity in the design process. The aim has been to consciously design in a way that allows access to all spaces and services for the widest plurality of subjects, differing from each other in perceptual, motor, and cognitive abilities.
The project has been conceived with a 360° perspective, with sensitivity and attention to inclusive design. All spaces and services are indeed accessible to any disability.
