Milan
In 2015, during the Expo period, several alternative initiatives to the Exhibition emerged, one of the most notable, led by entrepreneur Andrea Rasca, saw us directly involved in the temporary regeneration of the disused railway yard of Porta Genova, a space of 15.000 m², where the existing structure was revalued by integrating architecture and installations. The layout of the spaces was designed to promote aggregation and a return to simple things with high social and educational value.

Turin
In late 2015, MM also landed in Turin in an area historically important to its citizens. For us designers, the challenge was to revitalize the ground floor of the former Porta Susa station, a mid-19th century listed building that had been abandoned and was in a state of complete neglect, adapting it for a temporary event focused on market activities and food service.

London
The third project we followed for Mercato Metropolitano is located in London at Elephant & Castle. This time, the 45.000 square meters of space that constituted an old paper mill in a state of abandonment are being redeveloped, so in 2016, the post-industrial location, already fascinating in itself, becomes a meeting point for families, young people, and London workers.
